
The Bentley Britons have presented the Arnage successor at Pebble Beach. The model is called Mulsanne and is equipped with a unit of 6.75-liter V8, which develops 500 HP and 1000 Nm peak of torque.
After a long series of teasers, Bentley presented the new Mulsanne at The Elegance Show at Pebble Beach. Arnage's replacement and his rival Rolls-Royce Phantom has a name inspired by the Bentley models equipped with engines of eight liters sold in the 1930s. European premiere of the new Mulsanne will be held in September at the Auto Salon in Frankfurt. The model follows the logically tradion of Bentley and the fans will definetly observe this. The platform used is quite new and is not shared by any other model in the VAG range or Bentley. Production model of the new British manufacturer will start in 2010 the new factory in Crewe, and sales will start at half of next year. Bentley Mulsanne will be propelled by a V8 unit of 6.75 liters, inspired from the Arnage models. Unlike the engine's Mulsanne benefits from new materials, which helps to reduce the emissions and fuel consumption. According to Bentley officials, the new engine has a fuel consumption 20% lower compared to the previous generation. Surcharge V8 unit developing 500 HP and offers a torque of 1000 Nm engine. Most likely, the engine's Mulsanne will have direct injection and a system of cylinder deactivation.
The price will be enormous and many people will follow the used cars centers to find a cheaper version.
